We are pleased to announce that Perspective, the open source toolkit for real-time analytics and visualization, is joining the OpenJS Foundation as an Incubating Project.

Originally contributed by J.P. Morgan to the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS), Perspective quickly gained traction in the financial services industry. Its ability to deliver fast, high-performance dashboards and manage streaming data made it a natural fit for trading and analytics applications.

As the project has grown, Perspective has proven to be valuable far beyond finance. Researchers, product teams, and developers across a variety of industries have adopted it for working with large, complex, and streaming datasets. Joining the OpenJS Foundation provides the right opportunity to broaden the project’s reach, expand its contributor base, and further strengthen its community.

As an incubating project at the OpenJS Foundation, Perspective will maintain its core strengths while focusing on several new priorities:

• Growing participation and contributions from a wider range of industries
• Expanding integrations with other tools and frameworks in the web and data ecosystem
• Improving documentation and examples for broader accessibility
